At the vineyard this time of the year there are few late varieties left to prune/pick. Vidal is one of them and select grape mostly used to blend, but also as a stand alone drinking variety.
Care full selection of the grapes left will insure a quality wine. Fighting off the yellow jackets we work quickly to get our grapes into the bins for weighing-in time
Finding the best vine with most fruit to offer is key to punning. Ultimately by cutting off the vine you have the most control in the selection of the grapes that you use to produce your wine. This way you know what you are getting.
After the punning/cutting we are left with 4 lugs of VIDAL (white grapes) to weigh in.
The total weight for the above grapes less the weight of the wooden lugs will come to about 97 pounds.
